"Like all children, I began drawing at a very early age, and like most artists, I just never stopped. As a retired art teacher, I'm envious of how young children approach art with the uninhibited assurance to try new things; and the imagination to make it happen. It's this sense of wonder and experimentation that I try to approach in my paintings, some 60 years after those first drawings."

It's the 100th anniversary of the Dutch De Stijl movement! Hague in the Netherlands and Art@the Hynds in Cheyenne Wyoming are excited about it! Georgia Rowswell and Mitch Guthrie are saluting the occasion with a mini mural at the entrance of the gallery. It's in the simple, abstracted style made famous by the leader of the movement,
Piet Mondrian. Primary colors are blossoming all over the Hague and in are little corner of the world. Stop by and see us!

"I wish to approach truth as closely as is possible, and therefore I abstract everything until I arrive at the fundamental quality of objects." Mondrian
